Diamonds
in the Rough
What is a rough diamond? It is how it is found, usually
in a crystal formation. The better ones are a 'to be'
jewel. Then, what is a jewel? By nature a jewel is a mineral,
usually somewhat dull to pretty, that can be made or fashioned
(faceted/cut) into something much, much more beautiful. The
beauty and value of a 'to be' jewel is from a process
known as crystallization that has undergone exceptional
circumstances, usually temperature and pressure and over
a period of time. A jewel is simply something ordinary
that has passed through something extraordinary.
There is a saying... the
only difference between ordinary and extraordinary is
that something 'extra'. God produces this extraordinary
in us, the ordinary. He is the creator and the 'extra'
in us. He has in mind for us to have the will to produce
quality in anything we do. To His Glory we give him credit
for everything. Without him we would be as ordinary.
God says:"I will lay
thy stones with fair colors, and lay thy foundations with
sapphires. And I will make thy windows of agates, and
thy gates of [red precious stones], and all thy borders
of pleasant stones" - Isaiah 54:11-12 (KJV)
We are the 'diamonds in
the rough' ready to be transformed into JEWELS.
